Silk Sheets Queen – Beautiful Silk
Silk is just gorgeous isn’t it?
The look, the romance, but most of all the feel is what makes silk so special. And there is nothing quite like slipping into a bed lined with silk sheets. Just perfect for snuggling, reading a great book, drifting off to a peaceful slumber.
Here are the silk sheets we love for all price ranges.
It’s a bit sad and disappointing that today silk isn’t as popular as it could be. It is a very affordable luxury and silk sheets luxury is the luxury that has more impact than any other.
More impact? Why?
Simple. We sleep for 8 hours a day. That’s one third of our life. And getting good sleep has such a big impact on our lives.
So silk sheets are the best and cheapest way to bring a whole lot of luxury, indulgence, comfort and style to our lives.
So if you haven’t taken the plunge, be sure to treat yourself.
And of course although silk is cheaper than it ever has been it can still be pricey for many. In this case remember than satin is *almost* as good as silk, but is only a fraction of the price.
Silk Cares for You
Silk is a natural product that is extracted and woven from silkworms. As such is is incredibly luxurious and soft. Not only that it brings health benefits by being naturally hypoallergenic. Silk can also offer protection against dustmites, fungus and mold. There is also a lot of evidence that sleeping on silk is excellent for your skin and hair and can even help with wrinkles.
What to Look For When Buying Silk Sheets:
- “Momme” or Silk Weight. This is a number showing how heavy the silk is. A good number for sheets is between 15 and 20. Less than 10 and the sheets won’t last very long.
- Thread count. The thread count is how many threads are woven into one square inch of fabric. So the higher the number, the finer the thread and the softer the material will be. For silk, you’ll want a thread count of at least 400. A lot of the time the thread count won’t be shown for silk though, so you can just go with the Momme.
- Mulberry Silk (also known as cultivated silk). This is a superior kind of silk and you’ll notice this in the higher price. However the extra quality will go a long way – in looks, feel and will last longer.
- Satin. Satin is like silk is made differently in order to make it shinier. Originally satin was made from silk but is mostly made from cheaper materials today in order to save money. Satin sheets are a fantastic alternative to silk if you are on a tight budget.
